Create Enterprise Policies to enable managing the Brave Password Manager #32635

Description

This is a feature request, please tag accordingly

I'm trying to get approval to provide Brave to the users of a Linux SOE I'm building in an enterprise environment.

I'm likely to get blocked by our security team unless I can either:

  1. Forcibly prevent users saving passwords to company URLs (but allow any other URL to have a password saved)
  2. OR disable the Brave Password Manager totally.

The official documentation doesn't list many Brave Policies, most are inherited from Chromium. Could you please expand the policies created for Brave to include some basic controls of the Brave Password Manager?

Steps to Reproduce

N/A It is not possible to create an managed Enterprise policy for Brave which configures the Password Manager in Brave.

Thank you @Emi-TheDhamphirInLoveUnderTheFrozenStar I have just finished configuring Chrome (changing options) but for some reason thought that Brave's Password Manager was different to the one Chrome provided.

It would be very helpful if Brave would allow for URLs to be excluded from the PasswordManager such as with Firefox's PasswordManagerExceptions policy - See here

On the topic of Brave's help, I found there to be very little detail to the additional Brave-specific policies. I've had to configure all of those I could find but note that when using the brave://policy interface clicking on links sends you to places like https://chromeenterprise.google/policies/?policy=BraveRewardsDisabled which aren't going to work, given that the configuration isn't coming from a Google Chrome Enterprise policy.

Thank you
