I believe it's a feature of WhatsApp itself. Did you try opening WhatsApp on your phone as it asks to continue syncing

Hi, Yes I did. Didn't work. I saw a big thread on brave with this issue and just went back to chrome..

@UriZafrir Thanks for trying it. I logged into WhatsApp Web by pointing my camera at the QA code, but I didn't run into any problems. How do you log into the website? (I'm trying to reproduce this problem.)
It does sync tho as of now but the problem is that it doesn't sync in background
in chrome it syncs in background as soon as you open browser and listens for new messages even if you don't have the whatsapp web opened.
