It seems like many of the complaints may be referring to full screen view on Windows so we should make a special case for this since the window can't be moved or resized in that view and bumping into the screen edge with the mouse should allow for scroll or tab change.

I don't know. Many refers to the borders itself regardless the OS or even fullscreen.
I know it's not a statistical sample, but I use macOS and those borders is very distracting. I mean: there's a reason for it?
There's a reason behind it yeah. We're planning to add more functionalities to the side panel (like Leo for example, or split views) and having a more clear division of the different elements within a window is going to help visually identify each element more clearly.
I don't know if it's supposed to be like this, but since recently, the browser window has extra padding on the right side of the vertical scrollbar. It's infuriating when I move the mouse cursor to the screen edge without looking at the scrollbar, only to realize that I can't click the area anymore. I hope it's a bug and not a feature. It's a big issue for me as a UWQHD monitor user.
Windows 11 x64, latest Brave Beta and Nightly x64.
What's up with this white border?
(Linux Beta)
Jumping on the negative band wagon here for Private Browsing Window on Linux. The purple border is SUPER annoying and distracting.

I legit thought this was just a bug, but it's intentional 😱
It's very annoying when I want to scroll; I can't just 'swipe' my cursor to the right side of my scrollbar but instead need to more carefully position my cursor on the sidebar.
Additionally, I have a blue theme on my Brave browser. It has now become distracting for my whole browser to be surrounded by the colour.
Description
We recently implemented window padding around the browser window, via https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/31645. As expected, some users do not like this additional padding — opening this issue to record feedback for the design change.
