I relaunched my brave browser and it is not rendering any graphics. I am not sure how to reproduce the issue. I have tried reinstalling brave multiple times and am still seeing the issue. In a previous post, with a similar issue, someone had suggested turning of hardware acceleration in the windows system. I did that as well and am still seeing the issue persist
upgraded to the latest Beta version and these bugs disappeared

Brave suddenly stopped rendering properly. Not only websites but even its own settings page. You can also see that the search bar as well as other icons fail to render. This affects all websites etc. All other browsers etc work fine (not a hardware issue).
I also installed the latest version form the official website (without uninstalling the current version) to force it to update (if an update was available) but no luck.

I am having the same problem. Started yesterday. I think it happened about the time I installed the latest update. Not a single page works. This is a screenshot of my GMAIL page. I actually had to use Firefox to get to the Brave site to submit this.

This started happening to me as well, on Monday. I have not found a single site that loads correctly.
I’m using a Dell XPS 15 9500 Laptop on Windows 10 Pro x64 with Nvidia GeForce GTX1650Ti.
Deleting the GPU cache folder did not help.
Disableing GPU acceleration fixed the problem, but now the browser seems pretty slow.
It wont’ allow me to post any uploads…
latest stable, Youtube, other video platform not tested when user move mouse from the video being played to other area, there is a short whole screen white flickering(very annoying, i thought adblocker gone rogue again), turn off HWA solved the issue.
This may be related to Windows and nvidia as this user on Community points out:
The last major Windows 11 update version 23H2 caused this. It happens in all chromium browsers, so it appears to be a Windows issue. With NVIDIA GPUs on DirectX 11 GPU ANGLE mode, there is flickering on all video pages. Especially twitter and youtube. Might be on AMD too, but I don’t have one to test, I just have my RTX 2080ti.
The only way to fix it is to change the GPU Angle setting in brave://flags to D3D9 or OPENGL. Since this degrades browser GPU performance, it’s not ideal. But it does solve the flickering and D3D9 still has hardware video acceleration.
I use Brave on both Windows 11 and Arch Linux on the same computer (dual-boot), which has an NVIDIA GPU (RTX 3070 Laptop). I can confirm graphical glitches like the ones shown above happen frequently to me, mostly on YouTube.
However, this has only happened on Windows, despite me running the exact same setup (hardware, brave version) on Linux.

The only fix I now so far is by going to the flags and changing the ANGLE graphics backend.
(Im using Opera, but this bug is on EVERY browser, and changing from D3d11 to non-D3D backend fixed the graphical bugs.)

Its somehow sad this is still not patched after almost a month, didnt find a issue tab at Chromium's repo... idk how much switching to OpenGL slows the brave's speed, if thats similar to iGPU I wont switching to that. To temporarily overlook this, I have switched default GPU use to iGPU by going into "ms-settings:display-advancedgraphics" then set Brave to use it instead of my GTX. Make sure its using iGPU by opening task manager and turning on GPU engine at property sorting bar.(GPU0 should be iGPU) I dont really know how much performance gain from iGPU compare to only CPU mode or OpenGL with dGLU. If anyone is curious pls do a thorough benchmark.
Only just started having this issue, on an intel iGPU (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600), (CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4310M). Changing ANGLE to anything other than D3D11 fixed this (OpenGL, D3D9, D3D11on12 all worked)
I've tried changing it to anything not D3D11, but it just causes more severe glitches.
tried the fixes still not working sadge.
Description
I'm opening this issue to capture several display issues that users have been reporting in Brave in the last few releases. These issues are all similar in that they're all related to bugs in the way the browser displays sites/content but they are not all the same graphical issue. However, there are too many to open each issue individually and I think it is reasonable to assume that they are all connected in some way and ultimately point to a broader issue with the way Brave displays content.
Note that some of these issues were resolved by disabling
Hardware acceleration
, but I'm including them anyway because many of them had HWA enabled previously without any issue — only after recent updates to the browser did the issue occur. I believe this still points to a change made to the browser causing the uptick in display issues. I have also asked uses to providebrave://gpu
information where applicable and will update this issue when users reply with it.I've tried to include issues that are only 2-4 releases old. Most users who have reported this issue in previous versions are still seeing the issue in the latest build. Issues seem to be present across platform.
