Is there any update on this issue? This is very much needed, and I'm not sure why Brave doesn't have this feature when Chrome does. Many intranet sites (such as SharePoint, Exchange Web Access, etc.) use WIA so, to not have it available in Brave, is a major pain.

Edit: I found a workaround/fix for this in Brave. If you add a site that uses WIA to your "Local intranet" zone in Internet Options (or add it to the "Trusted sites" zone), click Custom Level, then make sure that the User Authentication option is set for "Automatic logon only in Intranet zone" (if you put the site in "Local intranet") or "Automatic logon with user name and password" (if you put the site in "Trusted sites"), WIA then works without a problem.

WIA just works in Chrome, without having to do any of this, so Chrome appears to have an internal setting or something pertaining to WIA.

IIRC, @riastradh-brave had looked at related functionality...

JessePeden commented 5 years ago

@bsclifton So, does that mean someone is in process of figuring out why Brave doesn't work the same way as Chrome does, with regard to WIA, and you have to use the workaround I provided in order to make it work, when you don't have to use it in Chrome?

It's working for me.

It's working for me.

Cool. Considering that this was from 3 years ago, I would expect it to have been fixed by now.

DerGernTod commented 1 year ago

it has not, i still have that issue with v1.45.131

Same here - for me really annoying. Chrome and Edge are working. Version: 1.56.20 (Chromium: 115.0.5790.171)

Any plans to fix this or to commend this problem from developers side?
