2 weeks ago I would also like to add on that the same thing happens with a private tab where the notch background is not the same colour as the tab background.

I would like it so the background behind the notch is the same colour as the background behind the tab. I feel like this would bring a more native and consistent look when opening a new tab.
Here is the current image of a new tab in Brave:
As you can see, the background behind the notch is not the same as the background behind the tab.
