The same issue for me. I usually only use favicons for websites and don't add any text to fit more bookmarks on my screen. Unfortunately it's not possible to add a bookmark with text only. It also seems that there is a limited number of icons that can be added to the bookmark bar if I just put in a space instead of text.
Another issues is that the favicon on some bookmarks doesn't update no matter how many times I refresh/restart.
+1, importing bookmarks from Chrome shows no favicons, and like @robiefish, I tend to rely solely on the favicon to identify the bookmark, rather than text.
Just in case did you switch settings on the preference page to display favicons? They are not displayed by default.
Thanks for the suggestion Luixxiul, that's done the trick for me.
Thanks! Why is that disabled by default? :s
Why is that disabled by default?
I don't think there is a reason for that but I'm afraid it could be enabled by default once after https://github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/2697 is fixed.
Related: #2972 (Mixing favicon only and favicon + text)
This issue is a request for mixing favicon only and text only.
My issue is not being able to simply use spaces in the text field to separate the bookmarks. It's supported in both Chromium and Firefox. In Preferences I have Text and Favicon on.
Bookmark option Instead of having to choose can we just choose how we want it, can't seem to have a mix of both words bookmark bar or favicon only.
