This is not an issue per se, but just a design suggestion.

Instead of large horizontal rectangle menu's on the main screen, what about using the menu layout you used in the Settings > Skin Settings section with popouts on the right for additional submenus?

The menu layout in the Skin Settings applied on the main screen would allow greater viability to more addon shortcuts in main menu and would allow more space to the right for any pop-out menus, or addon images.

I tried a vertical menu once, but the submenu flyouts take up too much of the screen. And it only really works if you have a lot of main menu items. I only have a few, so it results in a lot of wasted space. Will keep the horizontal menu for now.
