Hello brbeaird, are you aware of anything changing, possibly on MyQ side that prevents MyQ Lite from working? Everything was fine up until a day or two ago. Smartthings app shows the garage door status "unavailable". I reinstalled the MyQ Lite through SmartApps but same results.

brbeaird commented 4 years ago

Hey - no, nothing is wrong that I know of. It's been working fine for me. Do you see anything in the IDE logs for it? Do you have a contact sensor on the door?

xmaciek82 commented 4 years ago

Hi brbeaird, nothing worthwhile in the logs. After I delete and re-add the Garage Door via MyQ like, IDE logs show success while the smartthings app tile constantly shows "Checking status..."

5:11:27 PM: debug MyQ Lite changes saved.

I use the "no Sensor" version. I have my simulated sensors setup via IFTTT. All of this worked fine for a while but stopped several days ago. What is odd that I cannot even select my simulation sensors in MyQ app anymore.

Let me delete MyQ Lite, current garage door, and all simulation sensors from "My devices", My Device Handlers" My Smartapps" and start from the beginning.

Hi brbeaird,

If I'm using the simulated sensors via IFTTT (which I just set up again and working correctly) should I be using the MyQ Garage Door Opener Device Handler or MyQ Garage Door Opener-NoSensor version?

Regardless of which one I installed, the "Garage Door Contact Sensor" is grayed out during the "Optional Sensors and Push Buttons" section.

Also, how does MyQ Lite know when there is a sensor available? I have set up a "Simulated Switch" in "My Devices" and works correctly with IFFFT , but MyQ Lite setup constantly states "No Device found" under the "Garage Door Contact Sensor" section.

I used to run MyQ Lite 2019 version and also recently switched to MyQ 2020. I wonder if that broke anything?

I think I figured out my issue (you can mainly ignore the above comments/posts) but I do not know how to solve this problem. When creating the "simulation" device that is linked to IFTTT, if I select Type "Simulated Contact Sensor" IFTTT will not recognize this device but MyQ will. If I change the Type to "Simulated Switch", IFTTT will recognize this device by MyQ will not.

Any idea how to resolve this issue?

I had a similar problem couldn’t get anything to work or update on the myQ app. Found out the Integration fork between SmartThings and GitHub was broken. When I reintegrated the two I was able to update everything and I haven’t had any problems since. This may not be your problem but might be worth a try.

If you're using IFTTT, there is a known issue right now where it's basically broken: https://community.smartthings.com/t/how-to-smartthings-myq-smartapp-using-myq-sensors-with-ifttt/149601/135

Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.

I have been watching this since the last time you issued an update and basically the brown stuff hit the rotating oscillator... and I’ve been afraid to update the connectors as a result and integrated with the new smart things app. can you summarize what the issues are and which ones are fixed and which one still are having problems? To let you know I have MyQ integrated to smart things through your connector that in turn integrated to IFTTT and both Google and Alexa for voice control. This is controlling my front gate opener as well as three garage door opener‘s. While it is no longer a dire necessity that I have all of this up and running through voice control because the person that I did that for has since passed, it is a convenience that I often use myself and would rather not break.

I can tell you that everything still works fine for me, but I do have a dedicated contact sensor on my doors.

The no-sensor version of this SmartApp does not work well in the new ST mobile app.

Some people have also had occasional issues with IFTTT not consistently reporting events from MyQ, but I'm not sure if that's been resolved or not.

phaldor8 commented 3 years ago

Ok, thanks. This means that the garage doors will likely not even hiccup, but the front gate (having no sensors) may give me problems in the new app. Am I to understand that if I upgrade, I will be forced onto the new app? I currently have both loaded on my mobile.

No, updating this app will not force you to move. However, SmartThings recently announced the classic app will stop working sometime after today.
