currently people are directed to a google form, they fill it out and include their email, this is then added to the mailing list by either J or C.

[ ] Google form is no longer promoted on site
[ ] Users can sign up to mailing list

Implementation notes

ideally they can just drop their email in a form on the website
if not presumably mail chimp has a signup page we can link to
welcome email can be done via mailchimp
