Could be a separate binary, xlsxio-cpp.

What do you mean exactly? If you have a proposal for such wrapper I'm open to suggestions.

Yes, I can make a proposal in the form of a pull request. I should do the continuous integration piece first though.

CI has been set up in the mean time. If you have a C++ proposal I would be happy to take a look at it.
