I followed your instructions and it worked, and your explanation of /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules is refreshingly precise.

The software repo has worked well. Only issues were on my end learning to really read through repo README's! Now I have to work through how you did the shell scripts to understand more about how you did that. Thanks!
