Error in $.metadata.signatureVersion: parsing Gen.Types.Service.Signature failed, expected one of the tags ["v2","v3","v3https","v4","s3","s3v4"], but found tag "bearer"

@endgame Is this really the last remaining issue for release 2.0, or is there something missing from the milestone?

This is nice-to-have but not a blocker. @brendanhay said there was something he wanted to do with the readme, and then we tag RC2.

The README is now out of date and confusing due to the bazel to flake migration - so updating that appears to be the last step.
