In GeoDa 1.5.27 on Mac OSX 10.6:
1) Load a Mapinfo file with accent characters, for example:
http://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2011/geo/bound-limit/files-fichier
s/gcsd000b11m_e.zip
2) Notice that French names with accent characters do not appear correctly.
For example, the French spelling of Quebec is Québec, but in GeoDa Table
appears as QuÈbec.
3) Try to correct by selecting a different Encoding from the main toolbar menu
under Table.
4) Different encodings have no effect and furthermore a checkmark appears
besides every encoding tried which is clearly a bug.
