What I really need is like a framework, where I create a bunch of optional intermediates, and the player can decide what the maximum number of ingredients they want per recipe is, and then it will add intermediates as needed.
Oooh, that sounds ... interesting.
Would you have different limits for different machines? For example, eight ingredients in a normal assembler is hard, but eight ingredients for a space building, like for experimental alloy data, is easy (11 unique inputs, btw).
Yeah I think it would have to be different limits for different machines. This idea is still very speculative though, won't be anytime soon
