What if we implement a store, where you can buy new color schemes, themes, icons, etc. Reviews and Peer Reviews award some small base value, and the more people positively respond to them, the more points you get. Points = Store Credit.
An application I currently use (it's a task/to-do list) has a "rewards" option. They have partnered with Kiip, a coupon "distributor", and whenever I complete X number of my self-set tasks, I get a coupon for a dollar off a soda or something like there. Here is a quote from a review:
While Perchik isn’t turning task management into a game, per se, he is leveraging Kiip’s strengths, which is tracking important “moments” that happen within an app, whether it’s a game, fitness or to-do list app. If a developer can extract those moments within an app where users accomplish something, then they can easily use Kiip’s platform to monetize those moments, and use it as a way to keep users engaged.
So from this, it also sounds like we may be able to actually make money if we ended up with a solid user base.
The point is, having something like this would definitely be an incentive for users to rate and review. I will look into whether or not this can be done on a website (if not Kiip, I imagine something like it would be available for us).
We need to decide on a manner to incentivize peer reviews for users. Here are ways we've discussed so far:
We want a system which encourages people to review other people's reviews. I believe the best way to go about this is an automated system for new reviews. Take some random, active users and create N peer review requests (another model?) for each of them for a single peer review. Maybe doing this gives them some form of karma or score?
