This issue is about that I want to know if KODI on my MAC is running through my VPN-provider.
I will tell you what I did do.
After I made a connection through my VPN provider (AirVPN) I did start up KODI.
In KODI I installed the add on VPN Manager for OpenVPN, the add on VPN for OpenELEC. the add on OpenVPN and the add on openvpn.
In VPN Manager for OpenVPN under VPN Configuration, my VPN provider AirVPN is selected and VPN Connections is set to auto connect during boot.
After reboot KODI I did check if KODI was running through my VPN provider as follows:
In VPN for OpenELEC under VPN Status I see an IP address assigned by my VPN provider.
In VPN Manager for OpenVPN under Display VPN Status I see: "Disconnected from VPN" followed by a network location, IP address and SP all assigned by my VPN provider.
So far, so good, one should say. BUT.... in KODI under System/System info/Network I see my real IP address, MAC address DNS and so on.
Can someone explain me whether KODI is running through my VPN provider or not?
Postscript: I managed to import an OpenVPN Configuration File that was generated from the website of my VPN provider which I saved on my computer. But I got the message in KODI in OpenVPN: "An error has occurred whilst trying tot connect OpenVPN. Unable to connect to OpenVPN management interface". In the OpenVPN Settings the location of OpenVPN is filled in as follows: /usr/bin/openvpn. In this location however there is no file called openvpn. So I filled in the correct location of the openvpn file. Unfortunately this was not the solution, so I changed the line to default /usr/bin/openvpn...
