Hi @DrMemoryFish , thanks for trying Smart Connections.

This error is often due to using a "free" OpenAI account. The free accounts have rate limits that often cause significant amounts of failures.

You can "retry" the failed files via the button in the Smart Connections settings.

I recommend setting up the billing profile in your OpenAI account to prevent this from happening. However, depending on how much you use Obsidian, you may be able to squeak by with a free account if you are okay with occasionally having to "retry failed files."

Smart Connections takes a while to embed, especially if you have a large vault. Post a screenshot of your failed files

Likely so. The rate limits are time based. You can only submit so many queries against OpenAI per minute, before OpenAI blocks you for that minute
