Tried 8KHz 8- and 4-bit audio with a single voice query and both worked fine. Does need more testing with loud background noise environments but this should be sufficient to justify 8KHz 8-bit transmission from Monocle and, arguably, a 4-bit mode. We should compare the two as the bandwidth savings is huge.
