[REQ] Change Run keyboard shortcut #1764

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Currently, if you press CMD + R you run the query that is in Query Editor.

This is the same shortcut that generally Mac apps use to Refresh. In case that
you have a query in the Query Editor that you run some time aog, and you,
latter, try to refresh(Tables for example) pressing CMD + R, will end running
the same query again, imagine if the query is a DELETE or DROP.

I run in this situations several times before, and believe that other users too.

The Run command should not be the same as Refresh.

Keyboard shortcuts should have the same semantics in all apps.

You could use CMD + Down Arrow, for example, the same shortcut that Finder uses
to run a program that is selected or open a file.

Rerunning a query is pretty much the definition of "refresh" when it comes to
mysql.

Also the keyboard shortcuts for Run have been abundantly discussed after the
1.0 release.
Going by the feedback we will not change this shortcut again in a long time.
