Installation on OS X : need to run from .dmg each time #1844

I downloaded version 1.02 of Sequel Pro and each time I need to open the dmg in 
order to launch the application on OS / X 10.8.5.   Also, it does not create an 
icon on the launchbar, just a question mark.  Is there a way to get the 
installation to be completed and have a proper icon on the launchbar?
