allow conky to connect to internet on any available network interface...

Issue I compiled conky with default network interface for internet connection. When I switch to my vpn widgets gone because network interface change to tunX. It would be possible as a implementation to newer conky versions to add an option to tell conky to connect to internet on any available network interface?
