Use of xft fonts not working after kernel update to 4.14.11.1-ARCH #448

The kernel update issued today for the recent Intel security issue affects font display. I am unable to restore xft fonts. To restore a working font, I had to change conkyrc to: use_xft = false

This has been fixed by an Arch update to:

[2018-01-04 14:58] [ALPM] upgraded re2 (20171201-1 -> 20180101-1)
