Issue
I wish to display info via conky on my screen which uses a VLC wallpaper.
I use conky to display system info on the screen when I'm doing "work" and thus my screen is using a standard still photo for a wallpaper. When I'm just reading or surfing, I like to use a streaming video via VLC as my wallpaper. But in this case, conky doesn't work.
Information
Linux Mint 19.2, running Mate in Mint, conky ver 1.10.8, VLC ver 3.0.8
My ~/.conkyrc file contains: own_window = true, own_window_class = 'Conky', own_window_type = 'desktop', own_window_transparent = true,
The above works fine with the standard Linux Mint wallpaper, but nothing (from cony) is displayed if I use the VLC wallpaper.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
