When mirroring methylation data from the GDC to a GCE VM, I've seen 600-700kBps download speeds. When it is under 700kBps, the mirroring first times out on each file, then retries and succeeds. It appears to time out after 3 minutes, but something more like 4 minutes would be required to allow it to succeed on the first try.
