It says "Run regsvr32 HEICThumbnailHandler.dll". Which app do I select?
regsvr32 HEICThumbnailHandler.dll
is a command you should run from a command prompt, eg.
I would suggest making a folder specifically to hold this .dll before registering it (eg. C:\HEICThumbnailHandler\
), so that you aren't installing it directly in your Downloads folder.
Win+R
cmd
OK
cd C:\HEICThumbnailHandler\
, Enterregsvr32 HEICThumbnailHandler.dll
, EnterThanks. I seem to have completed the steps correctly, however the majority of my HEIC files still do now have a thumbnail. Even some of the jpegs don't have a thumbnail. Maybe it's because my computer is not new and the images are in an external hard drive with thousands of photos and videos.
It says "Run regsvr32 HEICThumbnailHandler.dll". Which app do I select? The first choice is Git for Windows. If I click it, it says "cannot execute binary file"
