Thanks for the patch @brotfessor Is there any way to make use of it on Chrome OS (FydeOS to be precise)?

I am sorry, but I don't have any knowledge on how to patch the kernel on Chrome OS. I suspect you might have to do a complete rebuild of the system and apply the patch beforehand.

But the patch is already upstream since kernel version 4.20 (and in the most recent LTS versions of 4.9 and 4.19), so if your system runs one of these, you should already have the patch applied.
