Presentation trail - adding vs. pinning documents #906

Pinning a document creates the new slide at the bottom of the current trail. However, dragging the document into the trail puts it randomly into the trail, not at the bottom of the trail and not after the currently selected slide Presentation Trail - adding vs pinning documents

no video, so hard to say what you might be encountering. When I drag a document to the presentation view it places it where I drop it which is the intended behavior.

When I drag a document over the presentation trail the faint image overlaps multiple slides. Am I supposed to infer that the new slide will be created above whichever slide happens on which the top of the document touches? To me, logically it should go beneath the selected slide especially since that is how you place a document at the end of a trail that goes beyond the visible trail window, i.e., you select the last slide in the trail and the document then drops below it.

The document is placed where your cursor is.

pinning a document always places it at the end of a trail, irrespective of whatever might be selected.

dropping a document, however, has different behavior. If you want to drop it at the end you must have selected the last slide.

you can drag a document to the bottom of a presentation without having the last slide selected. selected slides do not affect where a document is placed when dragged -- the cursor position determines the drop location.

humm - you're right - it was just that the document disappears since the presentation trail goes all the way to the bottom of the window. It's only after you release the click that the slide then appears.
