I am a LibreOffice user for over a decade and really support this and would do it myself if I had any spare time.

I put out a call for MSc student projects at the university, letting them pick which platform including LibreOffice. Looks like one will be doing Android app and two will be doing Word. While I use LibreOffice and haven't run windows for years, I also recognize that a Word demo is how one raises money to pay somebody to make the LibreOffice plugin.
On a tangential note, https://github.com/jerinphilip/lemonade did an ibus plugin with a demo in libreoffice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsmpx_A_7Y8
