Doesn't seems to work for 3.6.1 #34

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

I'm using PDT. I've recorded project setting to use 4 spaces instead of tabs as
reconcile, added rules dir to Mechanic preferences, and still it can't detect
when the project properties are changed back.

Need more transparency into what WM is doing.

Can you provide a copy of the .epf?

By the way, I'm now using Eclipse 3.6.1, and this is working for me.

My version is PDT Helios SR-1 and it doesn't work. .epf files are attached.

Ok, after looking at issue #24 I've found the problem. The error log is full of
messages "Directory '\.eclipse\mechanic' does not exist." Preference contains
'/.eclipse/mechanic' (I am on Windows). There is '/.eclipse/mechanic' folder in
my project.

If I set up the path as an absolute, Workspace Mechanic wakes up (I also have
to change last modified timestamp). What could help me to find this faster is
visible counter of found tests for specific projects in WM.

And it still doesn't work. Even when I touch .epf files and Workspace Mechanic
wakes up, it proposes to fix issues, I agree, the icon turns green. But if I
touch files once more it proposes exactly the same fixes. It seems like it
doesn't check that settings were correctly changed, and it doesn't change there
settings for some reason.

I've installed 3.6.1 with plugins from scratch.

"What could help me to find this faster is visible counter of found tests for
specific projects in WM." sounds like Issue 17 ("Show me the tasks I've
configured"). Would you agree?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
issue 17 would definitely help, I agree.

OK this is the general "It doesn't work with Windows" bug. I'm gonna mark this
as a duplicate momentarily.

All right. At least now I can see the list of available tasks, and it seems to
work, at least partially with 0.0.9. I'll add separate issues for this version.
