No Playback of recordings and live-programs

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. try to play a recorded film
2. try to wath a channel

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
for a short moment frontrow disappears and the eyetv-window is chown (not
in fullscreen!). then frontrow comes back.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
eyetv 3.1.1
PyeTV-2.5.1-Leopard
mac os x 10.5.8
