Changing the config mid-update may cause problems #14

Changing the config should halt the refresh, put crystal in a happy stopped 
place, and then return to a reload place.  

(identified by Kivanc in a code review)

The code now stops new refreshes when the configuration editor opens, but there 
is a lag to the stopping (if a refresh is currently happening) which can still 
cause problems.
