hc: allow to configure storage engine in config #173

Thanks for your pull request. What specific use case are you trying to solve with a different storage?

We'd just like to keep all storage in the same place, which in case of the daemon we're writing is redis. Also just not a fan of flat files (maybeee because my dayjob is making things work on containers without persistent storage)
