The Bhopal Tourist Guide Map serves as a handy companion for travelers exploring the city. It not only highlights the key attractions, historical sites but also brings the best of both Old Bhopal and New Bhopal. This map gives a main outline of the major spots to explore complete with basic amenities.
Audience : Primary Audience are Tourists and Travelers who wish to explore the city. Its also beneficial for locals who want to rediscover their city or guide visiting friends and family around Bhopal.
Purpose : This Map acts as a comprehensive and easy-to-understand guide to the city’s attractions. It aims to enhance the travel experience by providing a clear layout of the city, highlighting key points of interest, and ensuring that visitors can navigate Bhopal with ease and confidence. The map strives to encapsulate the essence of both Old and New Bhopal, offering a balanced perspective of the city’s rich history and modern development.
The following Mental Map laid the foundation for the final version.
Kindly Note: For this visualization, I made use of Layered Approach, a technique I have adapted across various software platforms. Specifically, in the context of Inkscape, I have implemented a stratified approach. Each layer is allocated to a distinct component of the visualization, such as roads or landmarks. This method of partitioning different elements into individual layers fosters a more organized and efficient workflow. This not only streamlines the task at hand but also allows for more systematic manipulation and editing of the individual components.

Location: From Beeda (Semariya) to Baikanthpur via Srimour, Rewa District, Madhya Pradesh. The area is in the northeastern part of Madhya Pradesh, and this part of Rewa shares a border with Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Audience: Tourists coming to city for seeing waterfalls, Local village public and School, College Students going for picnic can also take help form the map.
Purpose: To guide tourists coming to see the waterfalls (a natural heritage) of Rewa. Every year, many tourists come to Rewa from neighboring states, but due to limited coverage on Google Maps, they cannot see all the waterfalls.
I have attempted to sketch a map starting from Beeda, covering important places that tourists would like to visit. I have also marked roads that are not visible on Google Maps. You can cover all the distances within one day or stay in the rest house and continue your journey the next day. The other end of the map is Baikanthpur, both of which are well connected to the city of Rewa.
I have endeavored to trace out all the waterfalls, temples, forts, guest houses, roads, rivers, etc., from Google Maps.
Using 90-degree grid paper, I shaped out the abstract geometric shapes of roads in the following two images provided below.
I utilized grid abstraction to enhance the clarity and organization of roadways and landmarks, resulting in a more user-friendly and navigable map. By aligning the traced map horizontally and eliminating unnecessary roads and pathways, I simplified the layout.
The focus was to retain only minimal information that would facilitate easy navigation for tourists. To establish visual hierarchy, I differentiated national highways, state highways from the local streets to the waterfalls for accurate locations.
Here’s the final map with simplified view, icons, legends and identifiers of the routes to waterfalls and important places to visit in Rewa.
Note: The cream-colored areas at the top left and right corners represent the Rocky Mountains surrounding the Tamas River, depicted in light blue. I have endeavored to include most of the significant and beautiful waterfalls from my city. However, I was unable to cover them all as many waterfalls are nestled within the jungle, and the roads leading to those places are not well-connected.
Title: Nagpur Metro connectivity Name: DEENA GAUTAM Roll Number: 21f1001012
Audience: People from small towns near Nagpur, who visit Nagpur to watch a cricket match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association stadium for a day or two.
Purpose: To create a overview of tourist places, hotels and hospitals near respective metro stations, that can be explored by people who visit Nagpur to watch a cricket match at the stadium for short span of time, without using any other means of transport. Metro as a means of transport can be very useful in this case as it can avoid traffic and save time.
1. Mind Map Nagpur Metro connects all the three major public transport - bus stand, both railway stations and airport, which minimizes the time for any traveler to reach their respective destinations, be it hotels/restaurents along the metro line or even directly reaching the stadium, when they arrive.

Title: Tourist Attractions in South Central Singapore
Audience: First time tourists in Singapore.
Purpose: South Central Singapore is the heart of the city, and it is very easy for a first time tourist to get lost in the abundance of activities and locations available here. The purpose of the schematic is to present the very best offerings the city has to offer in terms of tourism, while also showing the metro stops so tourists can plan trips based on proximity. It also shows water bodies and greenery to enable tourists to choose which sights they want to see. When you open google maps, you are overloaded with restaurants, malls, and other minor locations in this relatively small area. This schematic is meant to abstract away the less important details, and focus on the major tourist attractions and what I consider to be must-visits in the city. The water body has been drawn fairly accurately so that tourists can plan a shore visit at any point, and indeed Marina Bay provides excellent views from just about any angle. The cardinal directions have been preserved, and the map is north facing so that tourists can use it from a high elevation point and associate what they see with the map, as most of the points of interest do allow access to some great vistas.
Step 1: Mental Model, sketched in MS paint. Essentially what I remembered from my visit.
Step 2: Reference from Google Maps.
Step 3: Drawing the major roadways.
Step 4: Filling the water body, by drawing an outline of the land shore then filling inside with blue.
Step 5: Hiding the land shore outline, making outlines and filling them in green for parks, grounds, and gardens, adding vector icons and traced bitmaps for points of interest, removing OSM background.
Step 6: Adding Metro icons to MRT stations
Step 7: Labelling and Legend.

Paris initially used to be an island city on the river Siene. Over many years, the city grew beyond the islands thus necessitating bridges over the river. Today, many such bridges old and new exist, and are popular among tourists and natives alike for taking long walks while enjoying the river front.
The purpose of this map is to give a schematic about the bridges, their relative location to each other, the islands, arterial roads, and the river Siene.
Tried sketching. Sketch aligned to true north.
Post overlaying map, things became very busy very fast.
Tried to simplify shape by getting the river and major bridges closely aligned to the horizontal and vertical.
Removed clutter and traced major features. The river, islands, bridges, arterial roads on the islands and the banks. Chose a colour scheme.
Labeled all the bridges, added direction of true north. Map is minimal, but definitely much neater now and focuses on what it is supposed to do without distractions.

Home Completion Journey in Coimbatore Roll No : 21f1001083 Name : Kaushik V Audience: New Home Owners who are looking to complete and move into their new home Purpose: Building a house can be broadly split into two stages. The building stage and the completion / finishing stage. The building stage usually involves raising the super structure from the foundation and fit it with the necessary wiring and plumbing infrastructure. Apart from the design of the structure and other minor decision points, the home owners usually do not have much of a role to play during the building stage, if the construction work is handed over to the builders. Once the building stage is over, the completion or the finishing stage starts. This is where, home owners will have a lot preferences and therefore decisions and possibly shopping to do. Since, the owners tend to explore the various aspects like paints, tiles to bath fittings, many of the shops co-locate themselves in certain areas. Each road , area can be identified for each of the aspects of the completion stage. This schematic map lays out the typical / prominent locations where different home finishing materials are available.

Identified the main temples to mark on a rough skecth of the city.
Created a new map from my google account by added the places that I wanted to mark.
Traced over the google maps of the main important roads that are necessary for this schematic map. This tracing is done using 45-90 degrees grid lines.
From the actual map markings, I have added the appropriate markings according to the traced map.
Added few objects apart from the temples which are mandatory things like hospital, malls, grocery store, bus station, railway station etc.
Added the labels for the objects and roads
