Are the docs really the right place for this? I feel this is relatively specific and niche to benchmarking.

Is it niche to benchmarking, but for me that’s an essential step of the analysis. Maybe we should just provide a script directory with templates people can use and a README? If you look at trinity, he has a section like that in the doc, and I do find it useful.

I can add a chapter about gold standards in general and add some example code
