Faceting doesn't like ampersands with collectors

Occurrence Records
Choosing a Collector with an ampersand (&) in it, returns a "No records found" 
result.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Data sets / Occurrence records / 
http://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/search?taxa=
2. Search for something, eg frogs or birds
http://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/search?taxa=birds
3. Facet by Collector and choose a name with an ampersand, eg "Keith & Lindsay 
Fisher"
http://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/search?taxa=birds&fq=collector:"Keith & 
Lindsay Fisher"

What is the expected output? 
A results page with 38,000 records

What do you see instead?
"No records found for class: AVES : Birds"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below
The search works as expected when faceting by Institution and choosing a name 
with an ampersand in it (eg "The Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust")
