BIE search fails if I include brackets #560

A search for Kookaburra fails in BIE. It appears to be a sub-genus problem.

Search term
Dacelo (Dacelo) novaeguineae ***FAILS*** 
http://bie.ala.org.au/search?q=+Dacelo+%28Dacelo%29+novaeguineae
Error message: 
Search for Dacelo (Dacelo) novaeguineae did not match any documents

The following search terms work:
Kookaburra
Dacelo novaeguineae
Dacelo () novaeguineae

The same failure occurs with other species which have sub-genus in brackets - 
eg bees:
Hylaeus (Prosopisteron) baudinensis
Homalictus (Homalictus) urbanus

I occasionally got an error message like this:
