I have been working on this for awhile now. I am not sure if I will ever even need this to work again after today. However now I am determined to get it working. No matter what way I have tried to look at it or make a needed change the remote will not download the pyatv module when opnened. There is only 2 things logged from right when I downloaded the files and nothing since.
@bsharper I know there was someone else running into this issue. Did you ever find a solution?
