Outer Frame Colour #1

Open mnuseery opened 1 month ago

Hi! Thanks a lot for the wonderful application. I use triplePlayer to learn Swedish, using subtitles in both Swedish and Arabic. I am using it connected to my TV and wish to find out if the outer frame colour can be changed to dark blue/black. There is also one more thing, when I open the player in fullscreen mode (the player fullscreen button), all subtitles disappear. I am greatly appreciating your help.

Kind regards, Mohamed Alnoseery

Dear Mohamed,

Nice to hear that you like our Triple Player. I think I'll be able to fix this. Just one question: Why do you want the border to be black?

By the way, which TP version do you use?

Best regards, Sebastian

Hi Sebastian! Thanks a lot for the reply. I'm using TP v1.3. The current bright outline reduces the watching experience especially with high resolution contents. It would be more comfortable on the eyes if the outer frame is of matching color to the background. This is absolutely a personal preference which may not be the case for other users. 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend! Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

oh... version 1.3! That's more than two and a half months ago. In the meantime I added some new features. Have a look at the attached JPG. Don't worry - even if the 36 buttons look confusing, they're not. And all of them are quite useful. Give me a few days and I'll send you the latest 2.4 version.

Have a nice weekend! Sebastian V2 4

That seems more advanced than what I have, in fact. Does the green "Exit" button in the upper right corner hide all the other buttons? I hope it does so :) Thanks a lot for sending me the updated version sooner. 👍 That's very kind of you. I'm aware that the program is focused more on Chinese users, but are there future plans for multilanguage dictionary integration support? Is there a preferred web browser to use TP?

Kind regards, Mohamed

Yes, of course! :-)

TP was originally focused on Chinese (I developed it because I learn Chinese), but it can be used for any other language. The integration of the Chinese Pleco dictionary was an unexpected stroke of luck, because Pleco allows web pages to "send" words and phrases. Unfortunately, other dictionaries don't do this. If you know of one, please let me know and I'll add it to TP within 24 hours.

P. S. Just out of curiosity, how old are you? And how did you find out about TP?

I am 49 years old and moved a year ago to Sweden to study/work. In my search for possible ways to immerse myself in learning Swedish, I was on the lookout for a program that does exactly what TP is doing (multiple subtitles) and came across the link https://hiv.net/tripleplayer. Though I do not know at the moment of any dictionary that works like Pleco, I will be more than happy to inform you if I find one.

49 years old... This was my age when I started learning Arabic in 2003. I worked hard for years, but at that time there was no TP and no drama with multiple subtitles. Unfortunately, I never became fluent...

Dear Mohamed,

I have uploaded the update to https://github.com/bsk54/TriplePlayer.

There you will also find a short description that is not complete. In particular, I changed some of the shortcuts.

All the best, Sebastian
