6 years ago While I agree that this could be useful, it wouldn't be just a matter of implementing this in the plugin (the original of version of Rack does not support MIDI out) -- I'd also have to develop a new Rack module.
Besides, since none of the DAWs I use support MIDI out from VSTs, I have no plans for developing this.
There are some workarounds, though:
- In a DAW like Reason, it is easy to convert one or more plugin audio outputs to "CV" signals (e.g. via "Thor") (and then to MIDI if necessary)
- There might be a VST plugin that does a similar thing in other DAWs (i.e. audio to MIDI -- but not of the pitch detection variety)
- You could use the
trowaSoft.cvOSCcvOSC (open sound control) module, in combination with maybe https://github.com/fred-dev/OSC_MIDI_OSC for the MIDI conversion
Do you implemt in future midi out Like midi note or cc? Would be helpful!
