refactor example scripts

cluster_beans.py:

• give plotting objects some meaningful names.
• do not override built-in 'type' object

cluster_manual.py:

• add exit() to the end of the script

This is a reminder issue. I don't want to modify cluster_beans.py before multiple_filters is merged to dev to avoid conflicts...
