Registry marks duplicate GG parts (e.g. same part, different plasmid backbone) with a manual checkbox and I think also flags duplicates when queueing, but how these duplicate parts are handled is confused. In many cases they should be interchangeable in terms of setting up assemblies, especially if e.g. two backbone marker versions are available that donate the same sequence but neither marker is used in the final construct. It would be good to consolidate these in some way so that they are at least recommended to users as alternatives, if not literally substituted for each other sometimes.
Relatedly, should support duplicate flagging when parts differ only by junctions but not by functional cargo, e.g. different junction set versions of the same part.
