Can it view just files in the same folder, without recursing into subfolders?

If I have file structure like this:

1.jpg 2.jpg 4.jpg 3 (folder): abc.jpg, def.jpg

then while i navigate through the pictures it shows them to me in the following order:

1.jpg 2.jpg 3/abc.jpg 3/def.jpg 4.jpg

while the intented behaviour is:

1.jpg 2.jpg 4.jpg

(or at least 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 4.jpg, then everything else)

Can it do such a thing?
