Only problem I see is many soundfonts have more than 16 samples per instrument. 
Would be nice if one could designate the range in Protrekkr if a soundfont had 
multiple instruments, like a gm kit.

I think, there are good hardware/software to get some 'noise' using a 
soundfont. (SBLive family cards, QSynth) It can be much more usefull to have 
JACK support... And it's a smaller task too. ;)
