The rom does run fine in retroarch's snes9x 2010 core (with the usual poor performance), however, on both the old and updated fork versions of SNES9X for 3DS found on universal updater, the game doesn't even start and stays on a black screen.
Some noteworthy information is that I have a New Nintendo 2DS XL.
The game is available for free on itch.io, so anyone else should be able to test this as well. (Plus new game too yipee)
