Thanks! Sorry to think of that just now but @roopeux wouldn't it be clearer if the search was inside the yellow thing?

@eroux the UX idea is to have a very clear visual distinction between scoped search and full search. People will hopefully learn that a line on a white background, instead a box on yellow, means a scope search.

I think one important issue with the outline search is that people don't really see it. Having it visually distinct from the general search is important, but I'm not sure people will see this version... let's see, it's not a very big deal either way

It is true that people might not see the scope search. My main problem is that people expect a box and we have a line. I have been hesitating around this quite a bit. If we keep testing, all of these will get reliable answers.
