no/wrong language #768

I am actually testing Ubuntu Mate 20.04. Rendering of materials are fine here - but I am not able to set german language?!

It is choosen in settings, but after a restart still english.

Tested with actual git pull from Mandelbulber. Bildschirmfoto zu 2020-03-16 16-45-30

Does anyone have an idea why the language is not loaded here? Or if there is a way to solve this manually?

i do not know, it works on windows latest build, but not for me on Ubuntu 18.04 development version

oops i was wrong I actually getting nethelands in windows, also when i choose polski???

man this wierd, in windows i am now getting german, and i had to "program preferences - english - ok" three times to get back to english??

Any ideas if its possible to fix this 'at home' /by myself anyhow? What could cause this? Still no german setting possible here @zebastian

Are you restating application after change of language?

Sure, many times...the setting itself is being saved, but the language stays english.

Checked a few hours ago, set to german, after a restart still english.

Still actual in 2.26 - no german available here...

I still cannot reproduce this problem. I change language, restart the program, and German texts are present.

Thats strange...other languages are missing here for a long time / over several different versions of Ubuntu Mate and Mint Mate..so I assume it must be a general problem with Linux somehow. In the meanwhile I raised loglevel to 3 and tried it several times, but I cant find any useful in the logfile:

Is there anything I could try to find out what is wrong here?

What is the 'translator' mentioned in the log exactly, can the translator possibly create an own logfile anyhow?

As this still is actual, even on a different, fresh Os and I have hat the Mandelbulber-logfile open, I recently found this: Bildschirmfoto vom 2023-01-31 21-51-22 Not sure if it could help
