It appears that the messages Star action Ajax isn't working. a cursory look didn't find a reason.
The action element also should really be a button one rather than anchor, whereas the switching of elements and use of data atts works for other actions here it also appears to fail, button use was reverted to anchors to retain basic working functionality.
Requires further investigation and correction - preferably not only ajax but so we can change element use.
