Hello.
I'm not a contributor but I've just checked your link and everything is OK. There is no bar duplcation. Do you have the latest Chrome installed? Try the situation in the INCOGNITO mode and see if it duplicates or not.
Hi Grigory,
Thanks for commenting.
Sorry I forgot to attach the screenshot to the opening comment. I've attached the error as seen to this post.
I have the latest Chrome installed according to the checker in Chrome. It appears in incognito mode, and I also have 'Chrome Canary', the beta version installed and it occurs there too. It also happens on my work PC and my friends laptop in Gibraltar, so I'm reasonably sure it's not a local browser issue.
Does anybody know where oyu can get support on Digg Digg? A place where you can ask reasonable questions and maybe get some advice? I have e-mailed Buffer on 3 occasions, asked on wordpress.org and under the 'support' tab where oyu download the plugin, nobody has offered any help :-(
Does anybody have suggestions on where else I might try?
Unfortunately, I don't know how to get help on Digg digg. I would suggest you to do the following: deactivate all the plugins except Digg digg, see if the issue goes away. And then activate it one by one checking if the issue appears. Maybe there is some conflicting plugins installed on your wordpress.
Hi Grigory. Thanks for offering advice :-)
When i first saw the problem, it's the first thing I did. I also installed on local host, XAMPP,a vanilla wordpress install, added a single post, with an embedded video, same thing occurred. No styling, no plugins installed, nothing.
@majenn Sorry for the lack of replies. We're not actively supporting Digg Digg right now as we're focussing on other projects at Buffer while we get more resources in place to keep Digg Digg development going.
As for the issue you're seeing with Chrome, i've seen this a couple of times and not figured out the route cause. It does only seem to be Chrome and only effects some machines. For instance I can't replicate the issue on that page with my machine. I wonder if you could let me know what machine you are using and i'll see if I can find a pattern to whats causing this.
I'm inclined to say it's an issue with how Chrome handles fixed position elements alongside video embeds but i've not found a related bug report for this yet.
Sorry again for the hoops you've had to jump through to hear from us. Hopefully we can figure it out. :+1:
Hi ay8s. Thanks for getting back to me :-)
Yes, I saw from the automated response when I e-mailed 'diggdigg' that it was a low priority due to resources...which is fair enough, you've made it open source etc. which is a fantastic thing to do if you don't have the resources to keep up with it all. So no complaints would be justified :-)
The machines I've seen it on are:
Work machine: Lenovo Think centre, M series, core i7 desktop all in one, Windows 7, 8GB RAM.
Laptop I'm currently on: Samsung 5 series, core i5, 6GB RAM, Windows 8.
10+ years old Dell tower that's had a few upgrades here and there, 4GB RAM, not sure what processor, Windows XP SP3.
Friend in Gibraltar I also asked to look at it but not sure what PC he uses there.
Any news ay8s?
Hi,
The digg digg bar has a weird effect when viewing a site in chrome and there's an embedded video (youtube / Vimeo) on the page.
Please see the attached snapshot, but also the page here when using google chrome browser: http://www.labradortraininghq.com/labrador-breed-information/
Scroll down to the video, the bar stops at the start of the embedded video. A new one starts just after. Then scroll back up, you will have two digg digg bars in view, though only ones buttons will work.
This doesn't happen in IE, neither in Firefox, but it does in Google chrome...which is now over 50% of desktop browsers :o
Is it possible somebody could look into this? I just don't have the necessary skills :-s
Thanks in advance. Mark.
