Forgotten to adapt scale factor of Papersizes #2898

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open an old fritzing file and accept the modification :-)
2. Do the work and print out the sheet.
3. Wondering why I can't read anything.
4. Thinking and reduce the millimeters of A4 sheet by dividing faktor 2,7559.
5. Doing some work again.
6. Be happy that this was the reason.

Please adapt the correct paper size on a later software version.

Attach your sketch file and/or custom part files to the bug report.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of Fritzing are you using? On what operating system?
0.87

Please provide any additional information below.

Perhaps I don't understand your point. The schematic frame retains its original
size on conversion. I think it would be rather tricky to resize this
automatically. The text is indeed smaller than before--but then so is
everything else--but the overall size of the document I print is the same: the
original sketch in 0.8.5 or the converted sketch in 0.8.7.

Yes, indeed, you gone from 7.5 mm to 0.1 inches means you did all smaller but
A4 not.
And you say by your self over all. You forgot the paper itself in system!
Sure on this way the parts you get on paper is the same amount like before but
you can read the values on sheet.
Means paper with originally 257 mm X 367 mm stay in reality the same but in
System you have to divide the millimeters by factor 7.5 mm to 0.1 inches ( it
is 2.7559) it means for example 257 mm / 2.7559=93.25 mm in System but this
stays in reality 257 mm . I did this calculation on A4Optimized and result is I
can read the values on printout. On the OrgA4 I get much more on the original
A4 but the result is I can not read the printout and I can scrap the paper.
Think about it discuss it and decide.
PS. a horizontal and a vertical version of paper will be in any case in system
good :-)

Michael J.

Extra comment:
Can be that the factor 2,7559 is mathematically is to strong and we get a not
so neater view on paper!
But nothing to do like you did is to small on paper. The way I did may be to
big.
The third way by try a factor between it may be the right way. Hopefully it becomes clearer now.

I think all that is required here is to bump up the font size of most of the
texts in the frame.
